I have a fissous (cracked) tongue, and what appears to be geographic tongue. I also get a mucus like coating on my tongue that I can brush away but it comes back. And sometimes, when I swallow, there is a click in my thought. Not always, but sometimes.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of geographic tongue along with some cracks tongue which is mainly due to fungal infection of oral cavity. It could be due to oral thrush by candida infection.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain proper oral hygiene as it occurs because of poor oral hygiene and compromised immunity of body. Do brushing and flossing two times a day. Use Nystatin suspensions to rinse oral cavity. Use antifungal medications. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy food substances. Drink green tea its very effective. Use Listerine mouthwash to prevent microbe accumulation in oral cavity.Take diet rich in probiotics such as yogurt. Do warm saline gargles three times a day.
If your symptoms keep son persisting visit dentist once and get it examined and start treatment accordingly. Doctor will check these patterns on tongue wheather they are changing and moving around or not and will satrt treatment acccordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
